Plenty of hot drinks, and lemon or blackcurrant pastilles, may help to relieve a cough. D not dose a child with a strong medicine intended for a adult; consult a doctor. He may prescribe the occasional teaspoon of a mild cough lintus, which can soothe any ticklin at the back of the throat. If a cough lasts for more than a few days consult a doctor.
If the cough is accompanied with a severe pain in the side, it could be a sign of inflammation of the lungs, and a doctor should be called.
